Minthis Hills takes the traditional elements of the Cypriot mountain village - interior courtyards, open fireplaces, stone and wood materials - and transforms them into a stunning 21st century design. Shaped to the contours of the landscape, each villa is hidden from sight of its neighbours, while every ridge and hilltop has been kept free from building to preserve the purity of the views. Spaces flow together. Framed views and an abundance of natural light bring the outside in, dissolving the boundaries between inside and out.
Vaulted ceilings give way to breathtaking vistas. Authentic stone walls blend into natural terracing. Patios lead down to infinity pools, enhancing the sense of elevation above the distant expanse. Such is the achievement of international architects Woods Bagot, who have combined cutting-edge design and the highest quality materials to create a luxury retreat unlike any other in Cyprus - and a contemporary resort to rival any in the Mediterranean.

Information:
‘Minthis Hills’, one of the most distinctive and attractive residential resorts in the Mediterranean, is now being launched and will redefine luxury living in Cyprus and surrounding countries.
Located in the rolling hills of Tsada village, between Pafos and Polis, Minthis Hills offers a haven of peace and tranquillity, a private retreat inspired by nature and breathtaking panoramic views.
The exquisite homes, designed by world renowned architect Woods Bagot, are a modern expression of traditional Cypriot mountain living that blend into the natural contours of the land.
Life at Minthis Hills offers complete escapism, but not isolation, unrivalled on-site facilities will include the recently upgraded 18 hole championship golf course, a spa, several restaurants and shops, with the thriving costal town of Pafos, where you can find virtually anything you desire, including beautiful sandy beaches, shops, fine dining and concerts only 15 minutes away.

Minthis Hills Golf Club was founded in 1994 and is set amongst the orchards and vineyards of a 12th century monastery, nestled in a gentle valley on the outskirts of Pafos and at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level, ensuring cool breezes during summer months.
The golf course has recently been fully refurbished with a major overhaul of the greens designed by British golf course architects Mackenzie and Ebert. All tees have been rebuilt and expanded, every bunker reshaped and new bunkers added, bringing the course up to match the highest standards of European golf. Now the course plays to a par 71 and measures 5828 metres. In parallel with the Golf Course renovation, a new Club House is being constructed, combining modern style with Cypriot traditional architecture, with wood and glass being the most dominant materials.
Property in Cyprus:
British property buyers have flocked to Cyprus since the country entered the EU in 2004. In its European Housing Review 2007, The Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors reports that prices on the Mediterranean island doubled in the five years to 2007, with buyers choosing Cyprus for its low cost of living, excellent climate and good public facilities. In addition, English is widely spoken and property laws are based on English Law.
On New Year’s Day 2008, Cyprus’ currency switched to the euro, which means the future looks bright for Cypriot property, despite a large amount of new-build homes.
The launch of Minthis Hills, a planned resort of 600 two to five-bedroom villas, will be in Paphos. The resort will have an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, a spa and a clubhouse with restaurants and bars. The developer says only 2% of the total 1,200 acre site will be built on, the rest will be planted with 50,000 indigenous trees and plants. Property design is inspired by local village architecture, featuring stone walls and open-air courtyards, while modern touches include floor-to-ceiling glass walls and infinity pools for that added luxury.

Woods Bagot - Architects:
A golf and residential estate outside Pafos, Cyprus. This 1,200 acre site is mountainous, with high hills and steep valleys.
The masterplan, designed in conjunction with Capita Lovejoy London, will minimise impact on the natural surroundings by positioning the 600 housing units nestled along the contours while maximising views of the mountains and sea.
A Golf Clubhouse will serve the club members as well as serve as the heart of the community. Its design responds to climate and site by utilising outdoor as well as indoor spaces, local materials such as dry stack stone and timber, and providing sun shading and natural ventilation to the interior. The building contains a 150 seat restaurant, bar, members lounge, function room, pro-shop, changing facilities, a gym, spike bar, as well as staff accommodation. Woods Bagot is providing full architectural and Interior Design services.
Additionally, Woods Bagot will design over 600 housing units ranging from four bedroom villas to townhouses, all working to enhance the masterplan through form and materials.
The project is on site with completion planned for 2010.

TSADA - PAFOS:
Minthis Hills
is located some 650m above sea level on the outskirts of Tsada, a traditional Cypriot village, where you can experience the true hospitality of the local people. Just a fifteen minute drive from the sanctuary of Minthis Hills is the thriving coastal resort of Pafos (Paphos), the capital of Cyprus’ western region and a town that encapsulates the island’s rich and varied history. Renowned for its fishing harbour, seafront promenade and its bustling market, Pafos has everything you could possibly need and will be the home of a new 1000 berth marina.

CYPRUS:
Famed for its constant sunshine, flaming sunsets and outstanding natural beauty, Cyprus is also one of the easiest and most beneficial countries in the Mediterranean to set up home. A rich and colourful history has created an undeniably warm and friendly culture embodied in the people of the island and their hospitality. With the Euro as its natural currency and Greek and English as its main languages, it is no wonder Cyprus has become more accessible to the rest of Europe either to visit or relocate to.
Environment:
Minthis Hills is designed to be at one with nature. An environmentally friendly, sustainable resort, committed to protecting and enhancing the landscape for future generations. Featuring solar panels for water heating and advanced, self-ventilation systems, each villa is completely energy efficient. Where possible, existing trees have been preserved and many thousands of indigenous plants have been planted to conserve the land, while rainwater and grey water will be recycled to irrigate the gardens and the resort.
Cyprus Weather:
Cyprus enjoys a perfect Mediterranean climate, basking in over 330 days of sunshine a year. Long, dry summers and mild winters are separated by short autumn and spring seasons. Summer is a time of high temperatures and cloudless skies, with sea breezes cooling the coastal areas. Winter brings some snow on the Troodos mountains, while the rain mostly falls from November through to February at sea level.
